Safety valve calibration has two methods: on-site & bench calibration. On-site is reliable but time-consuming & risky. Bench calibration is efficient but has temp & pressure limitations.

Answer: There are two methods for safety valve calibration: on-site calibration (on-line calibration) and calibration bench calibration. If conditions permit, it should be calibrated on-site as much as possible, because on-site calibration is more in line with actual operating conditions and therefore more reliable.

  • Advantages and disadvantages of on-site calibration:

(1) It is convenient for calibrating welded safety valves and can measure the return seat pressure.

(2) The disadvantage is that the calibration time is long and the system needs to be repeatedly pressurized, which is not economical and dangerous, and the sealing test cannot be performed.

  • Advantages and disadvantages of the safety valve normal temperature calibration bench:
 
(1) It solves the setting and leak detection of safety valves for normal temperature media and working temperatures below .

(2) It determines the smaller error range of the safety valve opening pressure, saves the adjustment time of the newly installed safety valve, reduces labor intensity, reduces energy consumption and reduces work hazards.

(3) The disadvantage is that there is an error between the operating temperature and the normal temperature (the spring becomes soft at high temperature), and the return seat pressure cannot be calibrated.
