The shaft, bearing and gear are the three major components of the equipment transmission chain. When using the vibration method for status monitoring and fault diagnosis, the radial vibration of the shaft can be measured in two directions perpendicular to each other in the plane as close to the bearing as possible, and the axial displacement can be measured near the end face of the shaft with an eddy current displacement sensor; the horizontal, vertical and axial vibration of the housing (bearing seat) can also be measured at the bottom or side of the bearing seat with an acceleration sensor or a speed sensor. By monitoring, collecting, recording, analyzing and processing characteristic signals and displaying data or graphs, the status of the mechanical equipment can be identified and a diagnostic conclusion can be made by comparing the judgment criteria and reference graphs. According to the conclusion, it is possible to select patrol inspection, monitoring operation or shutdown maintenance. For equipment failures with confirmed causes, locations and dangerous levels, adjustment, maintenance, replacement and other measures can be taken to prevent similar failures from recurring.
